What could your seawall cost?
Start with published Florida price ranges, then refine the budget with a written quote for your property.
Choose the work, wall length and material to calculate a starting range. Repair prices keep their published project or section units. Engineering, permits, demolition and access still need to be checked.
Repair prices by type
These South Florida repair examples cover different work. Project and section amounts are not multiplied by wall length.
| Work | Amount | What the price covers | Area and source |
|---|---|---|---|
Crack injection & panel stabilization | $2,000–$6,000 | per repair project; Targeted crack and panel stabilization work; the published range is not a price per foot. | Palm Beach, Broward and Martin counties, South Florida [2] |
Tie rod replacement | $4,000–$12,000 | per section; Replacement of tie rods; the published section size is not specified. Confirm the quantity and access in the proposal. | Palm Beach, Broward and Martin counties, South Florida [2] |
New-wall prices per foot
These Florida contractor-published ranges are planning references, not a Daytona market average. Replacement can add removal and restoration costs.
| Material / work | Price per foot of wall | Area, included work and source |
|---|---|---|
Vinyl seawall | $400–$650 | Florida planning guide from a Southwest Florida contractor · Published construction planning range. Design, removal, difficult access and other extras may increase the total. [1] |
Composite seawall | $500–$800 | Florida planning guide from a Southwest Florida contractor · Published construction planning range. Design, removal, difficult access and other extras may increase the total. [1] |
Concrete seawall | $650–$900 | Florida planning guide from a Southwest Florida contractor · Published construction planning range. Design, removal, difficult access and other extras may increase the total. [1] |
Steel seawall | $700–$1,000+ | Florida planning guide from a Southwest Florida contractor · Published construction planning range. Design, removal, difficult access and other extras may increase the total. [1] |
50-, 75- and 100-foot examples
Multiply the wall length by the price per foot. These construction totals exclude unpriced site-specific additions.
| Material / work | 50 feet | 75 feet | 100 feet |
|---|---|---|---|
Vinyl seawall | $20,000–$32,500 | $30,000–$48,750 | $40,000–$65,000 |
Composite seawall | $25,000–$40,000 | $37,500–$60,000 | $50,000–$80,000 |
Concrete seawall | $32,500–$45,000 | $48,750–$67,500 | $65,000–$90,000 |
Steel seawall | $35,000–$50,000+ | $52,500–$75,000+ | $70,000–$100,000+ |
For example: 75 ft × $400–$650/ft = $30,000–$48,750. Confirm design, removal, access, permits and restoration in the property-specific quote.
What to include in your price
Ask which of these items are included in the price and which need a separate allowance.
- Survey, assessment, engineering and any geotechnical investigation.
- Wall components, length, alignment, elevations and materials.
- Demolition, disposal, temporary retention and land or marine access.
- Drainage, backfill, anchors, dock/lift connections and utilities.
- City, county and environmental applications, fees and inspection stages.
- Dune, pavement, landscape restoration, final records and written warranty.
- Unknown conditions, change-order process and contingency.
Which local charges can you verify now?
| Item | Published information | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
Daytona city permit/inspection fees | The city advertises a waiver through January 31, 2027. | Whether your seawall scope and application qualify; other agency fees remain separate. |
Volusia single-family dock mitigation | The county page lists $397.35 for a non-exempt new structure. | Current adjusted amount, slip calculation and exemption. Do not add it automatically to wall-only work. |
Beach and Dune review | A separate county layer may apply on the Atlantic beach. | Current fee, restoration conditions and inspection requirements for the proposed work. |

What local public budgets can—and cannot—tell you
Daytona’s April 2026 update lists $647,001 for combined Riverfront Park, Manatee Island and marina dock repairs. The City Island update separately reports $98,000 of FIND design support and more than $1.3 million of construction support. These records show that utilities, design, access and multiple structures can share one project budget.
They are not residential seawall quotes. Dividing a grant award or a mixed public contract by a reported wall length would produce a misleading private price per foot.

Ask for the costs most likely to be left outside the headline
- Boundary/elevation survey and geotechnical investigation.
- Engineering, permit applications and agency charges.
- Demolition, disposal and temporary support.
- Barge or land access, dewatering and erosion control.
- Dock/lift removal, utilities, drainage and backfill.
- Dune, paving, planting and other restoration.
Daytona has a local dewatering approval route. Ask whether the proposal includes the discharge arrangements and related cost.
How many quotes are useful?
Get comparable written scopes from qualified providers. If two proposals recommend different methods, resolve that difference before comparing totals. Ask each provider to identify assumptions and the price basis for additional work.
The calculator uses published Florida planning ranges or a written price you enter. It shows the source, original geography and calculation alongside the result.
How do you compare two very different prices?
Make a comparison sheet with one column for each proposal. The aim is to price the same finished project, including items that sit outside the wall contractor’s headline total.
| Row on your sheet | What to enter for each bidder |
|---|---|
Base scope | Wall segments, components, quantities, units and drawing revision. Note whether investigation is complete. |
Included work | Engineering, permit handling, demolition, access, drainage and restoration: mark each as included or separate. |
Allowances | The stated amount or quantity, what it covers and how the actual charge will be calculated. |
Unknowns | An unresolved item stays “not priced.” Do not silently count it as zero. |
Change process | Who approves extra work, what evidence is required and which rate or written quote applies. |
A lower total can still describe a smaller job
For example, one proposal may restore paving while another stops at backfill. Ask for the missing restoration price before comparing totals. This is a scope example, not a Daytona price estimate.
Enter only applicable written amounts into the calculator. Keep owner-held contingency separate from contracted work, and avoid adding an allowance twice when it is already included in the quoted total.

How to use these prices
Construction ranges come from SeaBee Marine Construction’s Florida planning guide; repair examples come from JKT Marine’s South Florida service page. Both were checked October 29, 2026. We retain their geography, units and scope. The calculator multiplies only per-foot rates by length; project and section repair prices stay unscaled. These are regional planning references, not a Daytona price survey. Your own written quote can replace the reference prices and include known extras and a chosen reserve.
